Description:
The Chaga mushroom is a parasitic fungus that’s commonly found growing on living trunks of mature birch trees in the cold climates of the northern hemisphere. The earliest recorded use of Chaga dates back to the 16th century in the Baltic States as a folk remedy. Studies on Chaga, have found it possesses an extremely high antioxidant ORAC score of around 153,200 ORAC points per 100 grams, apparently the highest for any natural food. Chaga has also been found to contain very high levels of SOD (Superoxide Dismutase) at around 35,000 units/gram). SOD is one of the most important enzymes produced in human cells for defending against free radicles.
