Description
Description:
Royal jelly is a nutritious jelly produced by worker bees, used to raise and feed the queen bee. As a food, royal jelly is a powerhouse of nutrition containing vitamins (A, B, C, C and E), nucleic acids (RNA and DNA), enzymes, and minerals (potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc and manganese). Modern spectrometric analysis suggests royal jelly contains 185 different organic compounds, with the most important one being a protein called royalactin. It’s believed royalactin is the compound in royal jelly responsible for allowing a larvae to morph into the queen bee, which lives over 40 times as long as a normal bee.
